Case study - Corporate Christmas party.
There’s something a little bit special about helping your client plan and organise their work Christmas party. You want it to be magical and memorable, because they do too. It’s the kind of event that most employees come together for that one time of year to have fun, have a few drinks and festive food and dance the night away!
Choosing the right location and venue can be a challenge, however if your client wants to visit the same venue as the one from a previous year, whilst the hard part is kind of done, the fun part of planning begins. Then you inevitably find out the dynamics of the venue have changed due to a pandemic, which makes planning the event a bit more challenging.
The location is Croydon. The venue is a stone’s throw from the client’s office, hence why using the venue is perfect for the Christmas party, more of the budget can be spent on fun, rather than coaches or minibuses ferrying guests back and forth.
The venue normally offers an all in Christmas Package: a glass of bubbly on arrival, wine, a 3-course meal, DJ and a band.
However, due to staffing issues and the venue having to close because of lockdown in a pandemic, the venue only offer room hire and nothing else, all elements of making up a Christmas party have to be sourced and approved independently, from the lighting and production, to the staffing and glassware. Thankfully the venue still provided the bar and bar staff – phew!
We luckily work with a great company who organise most of the fun elements – lights, production, DJ, glitter ball, sweetie table – check check check! Throw in a selfie pod for people to take hilarious photos throughout the night and make great memories, and you are halfway there.
The final element is the food and drink. having managed to find a local caterer, who visited the venue to make sure he could work with the venue’s kitchen, he was able to provide a fabulous festive buffet, glassware, crockery, cutlery, table cloths and staff to serve and make sure guests were looked after.
The night went amazingly, everyone enjoyed the food, the bubbles, the dancing and singing!
Such a sight to see after all the planning and hard work by everyone involved. Let’s do it all again next year!
